A Theory of Processes with Durational Actions
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new bisimulation based semantics, called performance equivalence, is proposed for a process algebra equipped with the TCSP parallel operator. This semantics relies on the basic assumption that actions are time-consuming, where their duration is statically fixed. Performance equivalence equates systems whenever they perform the same actions in the same amount of time, thus introducing a simple form of performance evaluation in process algebras. A comparison with other equivalences is provided; in particular, we show that performance equivalence is strictly finer than step bisimulation equivalence and strictly coarser than partial ordering bisimulation equivalence. 1. Deadlock Behaviour in Split and ST Bisimulation Semantics
We investigate split and ST bisimulation semantics, in particular the deadlock behaviour of processes in these semantics. \"le define and axiomatise a variant of ACP, where atomic actions and durational actions coexist, and define split and ST bisimulation semantics on this theory. We exhibit a closed term that has a deadlock in split semantics, but not in ST bisimulation semantics, and vice ve...
متن کاملVerifying Performance Equivalence for Timed Basic Parallel Processes
We address the problem of deciding performance equivalence for a timed process algebra in which actions are urgent and durational, and where parallel components have independent local clocks. This process algebra can be seen as a timed extension of BPP, a process algebra giving rise to infinite-state processes. While bisimulation was known to be decidable for BPP with a non elementary complexit...
متن کاملDurational Actions Timed Automata: Determinization and Expressiveness
In this paper we present durational actions timed automata, DATA*, as a sub class of timed automata. In the contrast of T.A, the underling semantic of DATA* is the maximality semantics which claim that actions have durations and true concurrency is captured differently from choice. DATA* model is in one hand useful for modeling and validating reel aspects of systems. In the other hand, it is de...
متن کاملFrom Durational Specifications to TLA Designs of Timed Automata
Different temporal logics tend to emphasise different aspects of a hybrid system. In this paper, we study the predicative interpretation of Duration Calculus (DC) and Temporal Logic of Actions (TLA) and the link between them. A notation called generic composition is used to simplify the manipulation of predicates. The modalities of possibility and necessity become generic composition and its in...
متن کاملAn analytical on the gap between theory and action in Allamah Tabatabaei
The gap between theory and ethical action is known an important problem in ethics and education. Analyzing the relationship between theory and ethical action and deciding the elements having to do with optional actions of human and their interaction, one may perceive the reasons and roots of the gap and, on this basis, improve educational theories to attain the harmony between theory and action...
